Inner West Multicultural Access Project (IWMAP)

An important link between HACC services and CALD communities in Inner West Sydney
The Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care has provided funding to Ethnic Child Care, Family and Community Services Co-op Limited to sponsor the Inner West Sydney Multicultural Access Project (IWMAP) to:

  • Strengthen the capacity of the HACC service system to respond to the specific needs of the CALD HACC target population;

  • Identify/ascertain the HACC needs of CALD communities to integrate within the HACC planning process;

  • Increase awareness, knowledge and understanding of HACC Program among CALD HACC target population groups and other relevant stakeholders;

  • Provide Information, Support, Advocacy and Counselling services to elderly people, people with disabilities and carers from CALD communities.

The local government areas covered are: Marrickville, Burwood, Canada Bay, Strathfield, Ashfield, Leichhardt, Canterbury.
The Project employs Multicultural Workers who speak Vietnamese, Korean and Nepalese languages.
